| Mark Fisher - $50,000 winner in JUSTBET Win A Million Promotion |
Regional cricket champions Jamaica continued their good form, getting the better of the visiting Irish and Canadians in the two 50 over matches played at the Port Rhoades (formerly Kaiser Sports Club) in Discovery Bay, St. Ann, on April 7 and 8, as the Inaugural Supreme Ventures Sports Betting (SVSB) Jamaica Cricket Festival continued.
In the first match, Jamaica coasted home by six wickets, posting 230-4 off 47.2 overs in reply to Ireland’s 227 off 49.3 overs. Danza Hyatt scored an impressive 102, littered with 13 boundaries, while getting good support from David Bernard Junior (52 not out). Kevin O’Brien, Peter Connell and Nigel Jones took one wicket a piece for the Irish.
Ireland’s innings was centred around Gary Wilson’s and skipper William Porterfield’s 44, while Nigel Jones chipped in with 30. The in-form Andre Russell grabbed 5-40, and was well supported by Bevon Brown (2-36) and skipper Tamar Lambert (2-10).
In the second match, Jamaica overcame a few early scares to beat Canada by 4 wickets. Jamaica first dismissed the visitors for 148, with skipper Ashish Bagai top-scoring with a well played 53, Usimon Limbada making 24 against Odean Brown, 4-33, David Bernard Jr., 2-23 and Krishmar Santokie, 2-34. In reply Jamaica reached 150-6, with Opener Brenton Parchment anchoring the Jamaicans’ reply with a solid 72 not out.
After each match, awards were presented courtesy of title sponsor Supreme Ventures Sports Betting, to Jamaica, for being the winning team on both days, to the top wicket-taker in each match (Andre Russell for Jamaica. vs. Ireland match and Odean Brown for Jamaica vs. Canada match) and to the batsman who hit the most sixes in each match. Wayne Porterfield and Tamar Lambert hit two sixes each in the Jamaica vs. Ireland match. There were no sixes hit in the Jamaica vs. Canada match. Supreme Ventures Sports Betting will be presenting these awards for all the matches in the remainder of the SVSB Jamaica Cricket Festival.
Another BIG highlight on both match days was the draw for the $50,000 fan prize, as part of the ‘JUSTBET WIN A MILLION’ promotion, where one lucky patron attending the match each day will walk away with a piece of a million dollar jackpot. Cricket fans Andrew Moodie and Mark Fisher were the lucky winners at the Jamaica vs. Ireland and Jamaica vs. Canada matches respectively. Both not only won $50,000, but they will also have their entries placed in the draw for the grand prize of $600,000 at the final match in the Festival, on April 18.

In addition to the big cash winners, other promotional activities were conducted throughout the day by Supreme Ventures Sports Betting, through its JUSTBET brand, and several lucky spectators walked away with gift packages.

In the JUSTBET WIN A MILLION, patrons who purchase tickets to any of the remaining matches in the festival, from April 10 through to the end of the tournament on April 18 (match tickets will be priced at $1,000 per day), stand a chance of winning a share of a one million dollar jackpot - simply by purchasing a ticket to any of the remaining matches, showing their ticket at the gate, filling out an entry form and placing it in any of the entry boxes located at the match venue. At the end of each match, one entry will be chosen, the owner of which will receive $50,000.
In addition, all entries will go into a grand prize draw for $600,000 at the final match on the April 18.
The Supreme Ventures Sports Betting Jamaica Cricket Festival now moves to the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium for four Twenty20 encounters on April 10, 11 (2 matches each day). Sabina Park then takes centre stage on April 13, 15, 17 and 18, with two official One-day Internationals and two more Twenty20 matches.
The two official One day Internationals in the festival (April 13 and 15 matches at Sabina Park, featuring the West Indies vs. Canada and the West Indies vs. Ireland), will be available for betting through JustBet, as will all matches in the ICC World Twenty20, which will feature two of the festival’s competing teams, West Indies and Ireland – who will be competing in the same group at that Tournament, to be held from April 30 to May 16.
