Brian George (right) - President & CEO of SVL presents $240M Lotto Jackpot Cheque to Mr. S. Gayle (left)

The long awaited mystery winner of the historic Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) $240M Lotto Jackpot has been revealed, as the prize was claimed and paid today. Mr. S. Gayle, a 52 year old Farmer who hails from Manchester, came into the lottery company's corporate office just a little over a month since the draw, to claim his prize.

Mr. Gayle found out that he was the winner of SVL's highest Lotto Jackpot ever, when he listened to the live draw on February 10, 2010 during the simultaneous broadcast on Irie FM.

Immediately after the draw, Gayle said he told his friends he was "going home to have a bath and go to bed." When he got home, he signed the back of the winning ticket and locked it away safely.

The winning numbers drawn on the evening of February 10 were (6, 7, 27, 33, 34, 35 and Bonus Ball 12), numbers which Mr. Gayle said he purchased consistently.  Mr. Gayle is very lucky and his numbers so unique, as there was no second prize winner in that Lotto game draw, that is, Match 5 plus Bonus Ball. Gayle also added that he has been purchasing Lotto since its inception in 1994.

When asked about his reaction when he found out that the Jackpot was won by him, Mr. Gayle said "I was very calm." His response to why it took him so long to present the winning Lotto ticket was "I decided to take the time to relax and sort myself out."

Gayle plans to invest most of the money in real estate and farming, his first love.

The historic Lotto Jackpot presentation was conducted by SVL's President & CEO - Brian George, at the corporate offices of the gaming company. Representatives of the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission (BGLC); Independent Auditors - Deloitte & Touche and GTECH - the technology providers for SVL's lottery business were on hand to share in the proceedings.

In commenting on the historic presentation, George said "we are proud of the fact that the Lotto game has produced over 400 Jackpot winners since inception. Mr. Gayle represents another milestone for the game, he being the single largest Lotto Jackpot winner to date."

On November 3, 2008, SVL refreshed the Lotto game brand by increasing the Lotto starting Jackpot from $7M to $15M and the cost per ticket from $30 to $50. The Lotto logo was also re-designed.

The current Lotto Jackpot for Wednesday March 31, 2010 is $47M.
