Supreme Ventures (SVL) is pleased to be associated with the Nathan Ebanks Foundation Limited (NEF) for their 4th series of "Falling Through the Cracks Special Education Needs Conference and Workshops." SVL's contribution towards the workshop is $200,000. The workshops will be conducted between April 6th and 9th, 2010.
Like NEF, SVL is of the view that there is a growing need for better strategies to be implemented to help our nation's children and youth with disabilities and special education needs (SEN). This initiative by NEF, in collaboration with the Jamaica Computer Society Education Foundation, Full Circle Training Agency of California, USA, and Teach Jamaica of Texas in USA is a worthwhile project, which will train and improve professional behavior and skills practiced in the Jamaican classrooms.
The programme features a 1-day Education and School Leadership Seminar, a 1-day General Education Seminar, and two (2) Intensive Workshop days. This training is open to all education leaders, childcare workers, teachers, parents and other professionals. It is hoped that the knowledge gained will assist with a dramatic change in the performance of youth at the Infant, Primary and Secondary Levels. Teachers are encouraged to adopt these special education strategies and implement them in everyday teaching practices.
