Shelly-Ann Fraser and some of Jamaica's great track stars and their dates were hosted in fine style at the The Acropolis Gaming & Entertainment Centre last evening. During the proceedings, UNICEF's Representative - Robert Fuderich announced the appointment of Shelly-Ann Fraser as the first National Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF Jamaica, since UNICEF was established in Jamaica 32 years ago. Shelly-Ann joins the ranks of Harry Belafonte and Roger Federer as some of UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassadors.

The Acropolis Gaming & Entertainment Centre was a sponsor of the fundraising effort for Haiti through UNICEF which was organized by the MVP Track & Field Club, with Shelly-Ann Fraser being the main coordinator for the project. The Acropolis provided complimentary meals and drink for all the participating athletes and their dates.  Each attendee was also presented with J$1,000 worth of complimentary tokens to try their luck on the gaming floor.
