Acropolis Barbican Sponsors Dinner Dates For Jamaican Track Stars In Fundraiser For The Haiti Relief Fund

Shelly-Ann Fraser - Olympic & World Championship Gold Medallist - the Chief Organizer of the Raffle

On Monday, February 22, 2010, the Acropolis Gaming & Entertainment Centre, Barbican will be host to some of Jamaica's successful athletes who will be 'raffling' themselves for a dinner date at the Acropolis - Ambrosia Restaurant. The funds raised from the raffle will be donated to the UNICEF Haiti Relief Fund.

The participating athletes in the fundraising project are: Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Michael Frater, Jermaine Gonzales, Germaine Mason, Darrell Brown, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Melaine Walker, Brigitte Foster-Hylton, Sherone Simpson, Shericka Williams, Kaleise Spencer and Anneisha McLaughlin.

The Acropolis will provide complimentary meals and drink for the participating athletes and their dates, from a mouthwatering menu. Each attendee will also be presented with J$1,000 worth of complimentary tokens to try their luck on the gaming floor.

Members of the public who are interested in purchasing tickets for the 'raffle date' with one of the athletes can obtained these at a cost of $500 each, from the following locations:

Haiti was ravaged when an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude on the Richter Scale, the most powerful to hit that country, struck shortly before 5p.m. on January 12, 2010. Many well-thinking Jamaicans have contributed cash and kind towards the relief effort.
