Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) game brand, Lotto has now climbed to a historic jackpot since the introduction of the game in Jamaica. The Lotto Jackpot now stands at a whopping $200M for this Wednesday's draw - February 3, 2010.
On November 3, 2008, the gaming company refreshed the game brand by increasing the Lotto starting Jackpot from $7M to $15M and the cost per ticket from $30 to $50. The Lotto logo was also re-designed.
The last time the Lotto Jackpot climbed close to the current amount was in 2006, when the then Jackpot of $140M was won by Mr. K. Neita. Since then, the Jackpot rolled once to $120M in April 2007. In fact, that was the first time since the game's inception in Jamaica, that the company had 10 winners of a single Jackpot.
SVL's Lotto Jackpots over the years have rolled once to $100M and twice to $70M in 2005; in 2009 it rolled twice to $50M and also twice to $60M. There are however several winners for other jackpot amounts.
SVL obtained its license on January 11, 2001 from the Betting Gaming & Lotteries Commission. The Company has since received an extension of its licence to the year 2016 and its lottery game brands consolidated under its subsidiary company - Supreme Ventures Lotteries Limited. This company currently offers seven lottery games: Lotto, Cash Pot, Lucky5, Dollaz!, Pick3, Super Lotto and the WinQuick brand of Instant Games.
