| The Supreme Ventures Foundation (SVF), on Tuesday, July 10, announced its support of local sports, through a $20M contribution to the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA), for Jamaica's team to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The announcement was made by Dr. David McBean, Chairman of the Supreme Ventures Foundation, at a joint press conference held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
In his remarks, Dr. McBean said, "The Supreme Ventures Foundation is extremely proud about undertaking the Go for Gold Fundraising Raffle, which was our first project since we launched in April this year. We are sure that our contribution to the JOA will assist in the success of our athletes participating in the London 2012 Olympic Games. A special thank you to all the persons who have contributed to the Go for Gold Raffle Fundraiser by purchasing a ticket and congratulations to all the Go for Gold winners and specifically to those who will be travelling to London to watch the Olympic Games."
The Hon. Michael Fennell, President of the JOA, thanked SVF for its contribution. He also used the opportunity to present the names of the fifty athletes who have been selected to represent Jamaica at the London 2012 Olympic Games and to share some of the expected highlights while the team is in the UK.
