Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), today announced its continued support of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Junior and Senior Championships, during a joint press conference held in Kingston, at the Knutsford Court Hotel.
The announcement was made by Brian George - President & CEO of Supreme Ventures Limited.
George, in his remarks, stated that "The SVL team is proud to renew its title sponsorship of the JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Junior and Senior Championships for the ninth consecutive year. SVL's longstanding partnership with the JAAA underscores our commitment to the continued growth of track and field and by extension, the development of local sport in general. As such, we embarked on an ambitious project this year, in order to raise funds for the JAAA and ultimately, Jamaica's team to the London 2012 games. The Go for Gold Raffle executed in April through May, has allowed us to sponsor the JAAA/SVL National Championships to the tune of $10.72M, of which $1.72M will be used for athletes preparation to the London Olympics Games."
He further stated that "We are extremely pleased that the Government of Jamaica and the Jamaica 50 Secretariat have seen the value of the event, and have chosen to participate with launching the Jamaica 50 celebratory events, during the opening ceremony at the JAAA/SVL National Senior Championships on Friday, June 29, 2012."
The much anticipated JAAA/SVL National Junior and Senior Championships will be held on June 16-17 (Juniors) and June 28-July 1, 2012 (Seniors), respectively, at the National Stadium.
SVL will also be donating 1,000 tickets for distribution amongst twenty schools, so that their students can attend the opening ceremony on Friday -
June 29 and also see first-hand, what will be the greatest showdown on earth, when the final of the 100 Metres will take centre stage later that evening.
The JAAA/SVL National Junior Championship is used to select athletes to represent Jamaica at the CAC Youth and Junior Championships, which will be held in San Salvador, El Salvador from June 29-July 1, 2012 and the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships, scheduled for Barcelona Spain - July 10-15, 2012.
