NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FAVOURED TO WIN SUPER BOWL XLVI
Feb 2, 2012

As one of the most highly anticipated Super Bowl game in recent years approaches, the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots are favoured over the Eli Manning led New York Giants to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy on Super Bowl Sunday, February 5. This, according to odds released by JustBet, Supreme Ventures's sports betting brand.

The Patriots, Champions in 2001, 2003 and 2004, are favoured by three and half points over the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, which is being played in Indianapolis, Indiana. The JustBet betting offer for  'under/over' with respect to total points in the game is 54.5.  JustBet odds on the Patriots to win outright are 1.55 (or 11/20), while odds on the Giants (Champions in 1986, 1990 and 2007) to win outright are 2.30 (or 13/10).

At the start of the NFL season back in September, the Patriots were favoured at odds of 6.00 (or 5/1) to win the Super Bowl, while the Giants, who didn't even make the playoffs last year and who at one point were in serious danger of missing the postseason this year as well, were favoured at odds of 25.00 (or 24/1) to win the trophy.

This year's Super Bowl is a rematch of Super Bowl XLII in 2008, in which the underdogs the Giants triumphed 17-14, crushing the Patriots' hopes of an unbeaten season. The Patriots and Giants also met in week 9 (November 6) of this past regular season, where the Giants also won 24-20.

In addition to accepting bets on the winner of the big game, JustBet is also offering wagering on various "Special Bets" related to the contest. Bets to be offered include: Super Bowl MVP; what the first scoring play will be; which player will have the most passing/receiving/rushing yards in the game; which players will score a touchdown in the game; the quarter in which the most points will be scored and what the margin of victory will be?

Betting on the Super Bowl closes on Saturday night, February 4. No bets will be accepted on Super Bowl Sunday.

NFL fans are also invited to gather at Supreme Ventures' ARENA sports bar locations at Acropolis Barbican in Kingston, Acropolis Portmore, and Coral Cliff in Montego Bay, to enjoy the Super Bowl excitement this Sunday. For a nominal entrance fee, patrons will receive a special meal and drink special on the house. The JustBet promotion team will also have lots of giveaways and prizes during the event. NFL activity will begin at 4pm at these locations.

I am a very die hard Pats fan, have been since they were the Boston Patriots, But I am old enough to know that the only sure bet is no bet at all. The Pats may win the super bowl but will they cover the spraed?Plus if you remember it wasn't that long ago when the Rams who were the greatest show on turf and had the Pats as a 14 point under dog that the Pats won the super bowl.
